Soraya and Sofia Nepomuceno
Soraya came from Brazil to Timor Leste in 1998, pre-independance and worked with street kids in Santa Cruz. Soraya started Kids Ark in Hera, 2003. She is the Director and oversees education.
Sofia was adopted by Soraya after her mother died in child birth. Sofia speaks Portuguese but also attend the english speaking Dili International Primary School.
Branca Lopes
Branca has been in Timor Leste since her first visit in 2002. Branca is a trained nurse from Brazil and has spent many years helping the poor in her own country. Branca oversees the medical work and aids the locals in community development projects.
Carol Payne
Carol first came to Timor Leste in 2000, with a short term team working with Soraya. She made regular visits each year until 2009 when she joined Kids Ark full-time. Carol's background is administration and IT but enjoys working with kids and the disabled. She is training the teachers to use laptops and teach Art.

Physical address
We live on the main road through the village of Hera. Hera is about 40 minutes out of Dili, travelling east towards Baucau, and Los Palos.
Our home and office is near the police station - ask anyone about and they will know us by name.
You can travel from Dili through Becora or on the coast road near Cristo Rei. The roads are sealed but watch the potholes and animals on the road.
