Liman Hamutuk Center

The Liman Hamutuk Rehabilitation Center (CRLH) in Hera has established itself with the vision of achieving a Participatory Society that does not discriminate against Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and guarantees social justice for all.

The Liman Hamutuk Rehabilitation Center is proud of the successes achieved this year. This success is part of the contribution and hard work of the Program staff, including the support offered by partners to CRLH to achieve the following Programs implemented at CRLH itself:

Education Program
Home Visit Program
Family Forum Program
Health Program
Extra Activities

Home Visit Program

In this Program, CRLH staff also conduct routine visits to the homes of PwD who do not have access to the Center. Clients who stay at home also receive the provision of food, clothes, school material (stationery), basic therapy, counselling, and family education on how to care for PwD.

During these home visits, visitors such as missionaries, private donors, and partners sometimes also visit the clients at home to see up close what the life of the PwD is like.

Extra Activities: Advocacy, Empowerment, and Representation

Beyond our core programs, CRLH engages in crucial activities focused on eliminating stigmaadvancing rights, and ensuring the full social and political participation of Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

1. Promoting Dignity and Inclusive Language

We actively work to combat discrimination by promoting the use of correct and respectful terminology for PwD in schools and communities.

  • Community Socialization: We conduct sessions to educate the public on avoiding offensive words (like "Crazy" or Bulak) and using appropriate terms, such as Mental Health Conditions, Physical Disability, Visual Disability, or Hearing Disability. This effort is vital for eliminating stigma and ensuring dignity.

  • Public Awareness Campaigns: CRLH runs Pedágios (information stops) alongside public and private transport, distributing Pamphlets and Brochures to passengers to promote correct, inclusive language.

2. Protection, Justice, and Economic Empowerment

CRLH is dedicated to protecting vulnerable PwD and fostering economic independence.

  • Combating Abuse: We collaborate with local authorities and competent organizations to process suspects who commit abuse against Girls and Women with Disabilities. Victims are provided shelter for mental recovery, and the necessary justice process is pursued.

  • Empowering Women: In partnership with the Office of the Social Affairs Advisor to the Presidential Palace, we facilitated a small business women's training. This effort has included guiding women, like Zelina, to secure Financial Support to establish their own small businesses.

3. Political Advocacy and Representation

We ensure the voices and needs of PwD are heard at the highest levels of governance and society.

  • Budget Advocacy: CRLH actively participates in the Debate and Submission of the 2026 General State Budget (OGE), submitting ideas for a PwD-sensitive budget led by ADTL and DFAT. We ensure PwD representatives are present in these critical discussions.

  • Inter-Organizational Collaboration: We hold regular meetings with Members of Parliament of Commission G on PwD issues and attend quarterly meetings to update services among 28 organizations.

  • Public Representation: CRLH staff are frequently entrusted to serve as Master of Ceremony (MC) for major national events, including the World Day and National Day for PwD, which are attended by the President, Prime Minister, and other high-level government officials.

4. Supporting PwD in Sports

CRLH provides crucial support for PwD participation in international events.

  • Facilitating International Participation: We processed essential documents (ID and Passport) for a group of youth (Magos) to compete in the International Rugby Game in Indonesia (Bali/NTT), where their team successfully achieved Third Place.
